Foodkind CIC was delighted to appear at a national event attended by many of the leaders or supermarkets, restaurants and manufacturers who contribute surplus food to us, as a representative of a Fareshare accredited organisation.
Sophia appeared for us via zoom and said the stream of comments from people around the UK was really heartening – it showed the level of interest from companies in doing more to help.
Attendees also responded to the feedback we get from vulnerable people and families who find our projects so helpful. One story particularly resonated: that of the 9 year old girl writing to us after getting an emergency parcel with fresh strawberries; she said she had never tried a strawberry and that it was delicious.
We know that is why we do what we do, along with all the lovely feedback from people and it was glad to know about all the efforts to tackle food waste at the most senior levels.
