Curry in a hurry
Fruity Curry Ingredients 1-2 tbsp oil 2-4 cloves…
Seven days a week, our volunteers collect surplus food from warehouses, shops and restaurants. Lorry loads of perfectly edible but unsold food is rescued to nourish and support the community - so it is less costly for the environment and our pockets.
We are an environmental not-for-profit organisation which promotes sustainability by preventing food and goods from going to waste, and use our experience to support charities with projects from community cafes to food banks.
Foodkind’s new Northampton Hub allows us to share food with charity projects, as we did through the pandemic. Together with our community shop/larder openings, we nourish thousands of people a month. We are proud to be accredited at Fareshare’s highest level.
All projects are not-for-profit:
We were selected for a national panel about our lockdown work to collect and deliver food for thousands of people in need. Our emergency parcels and supplies to charity projects help people who are disabled, vulnerable or disadvantaged.
Our work has featured on ITV news and BBC Radio; we were nominated University of Northampton Changemakers and won three medals in the Weetabix Food and Drink Awards including the Food Hero category.
This visibility helps us in our campaign for greater sustainability, and awareness of the way food waste contributes to greenhouse gases and climate change.
